What is Voluntary Certification of Yoga Professional?

The Quality Council of India (QCI) designed the Voluntary Yoga Professional Certification Scheme based on the principles and requirements that are present in the international standard of ISO 17024:2012 General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification of Persons. This certification process is conducted by a third party by assessing the competence and compliance of Yoga professionals in terms of their knowledge and skills.

What is the process to get your Yoga institute certified?

Step 2: Stage 1 audit TQCert will conduct the audit to check both your documents and facilities.

INR 23,000 (INR 20,000/- + S.T.)

Travel + stay + food for the auditors will be borne by the institute.

To be paid before Stage 1 audit

Yoga institute must have the following in order:

  • Quality Manual, Teaching Manual, List of courses for Certification.
  • Course material for each course for which they are seeking certification.
  • Self-assessment checklist of syllabus.
  • Facilities & infrastructure of the institute.

Step 3: Stage 2 Audit TQCert will conduct a second audit to check observations from Stage 1 audit and mock Teacher classes on QCI syllabus

Yoga school will be audited on:

  • Mock classes by teachers checked
  • Classes checked for QCI syllabus in the course and teacher effectiveness

Currently Level 1-Yoga instructor and Level 2– Yoga Teacher certification is operational.

 

 

What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2?

Level 2 Yoga Teacher certification is a more advanced certification than Level 1 Yoga Instructor certification. For the differences in the level and content of theoretical and practical knowledge required for each refer to the following links:

How will the scheme be operated?
The Scheme will be operated by Accredited Personnel Certification Bodies
Who will accredit the Personnel Certification Bodies?
The Personnel certification Bodies will be accredited by National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) as per ISO 17024
How will the certification of yoga professionals be done?

The Yoga professionals will be certified as per the scheme. The Scheme consists of

1. Competency Standard for Level 1 – Yoga Instructor

2. Evaluation Criteria for Level 1 – Yoga Instructor

3. Competency Standard for Level 2 – Yoga Teacher

4. Evaluation Criteria for Level 2 – Yoga Teacher

What is the process of certification?

The yoga professionals desirous of getting certified as Yoga Teachers have to apply for the certification to TQ Cert. It can be done on line as well as off line.

Applicants accepted will be informed of the centre at which they will be examined.

The examination will consist of

Written Examination

Practical Demonstration

Oral Interview

What if I am unable to attend on the given date of examination?

If you are unable to attend the examination on the specified date, you can send an email to us within 2 days from declaration of the dates of examination. You will be given an alternate once. However no further requests for different date or city will be accepted and you will forfeit the examination fees

What is the pattern of the question paper and marking scheme of the exam?

For both levels, the exam will have two stages. Stage one is a theory examinations and Stage two is a practical examination. Refer the table below for further details.
